Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho (Dinner)
Morning transfer to My Tho on the upper Mekong River bank for embarkation on the Jayavarman Cruise. Enjoy a cocktail at the Funnel Bar and Lounge before a welcome dinner on the Sun Deck. The cruise drops anchor outside My Tho. Overnight on board on the Jayavarman Cruise
Cai Be – Sa Dec – Chau Doc (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Attend Tai Chi class and enjoy morning tea or coffee in the morning before visiting the famed Cai Be floating market by a traditional sampan. On the way, discover how rice cookies and coconut candies are made as well as Longan fruit drying process. Continue to visit an ancient house with lush fruit orchards. Head to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon, the cruise will sail you to Sa Dec. Upon arrival, get on a sampan to Binh Thanh Island and see how water hyacinths are grown and processed into natural fibre floor mats and rattan baskets by skillful locals. Re-embark the ship for an evening cruise to Chau Doc. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included and the ship moors midstream overnight near Chau Doc. Overnight on the Jayavarman Cruise
Chau Doc – Border Crossing (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, you will visit a local market and then move to the quay for a boat excursion to floating villages and rustic catfish farms. Back to the ship for lunch. Transfer to Phnom Penh by mid-afternoon. You can either choose to relax, enhance your culinary skills by participating in our hands-on cooking classes or tour the ship with our impeccable Cruise Director. Note: Due to high water in the Mekong Delta between July and December the following program applies: This morning, you will start your excursion on a local boat (sampan) and discover the border town of Tan Chau. Firstly, the journey takes you to the “evergreen” islands where you will be thrilled to learn the life of the locals.
The inhabitants of these islands live on houses poised on high stilts – a centuries-old tradition in this part of the Mekong Delta. We stop to visit a fish farm located in the Tan Chau canal – this farm consists of floating houses and the villagers make their living by cultivating fish. You continue by boat to Tan Chau pier, disembark here and stroll around this colorful local market with lots of regional products. You return to the cruise Ship after your market visit.
Overnight on the Jayavarman Cruise
Phnom Penh (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, the tour kicks off with a comprehensive lecture on Cambodia’s modern history. Then, join a city tour around this vibrant city which features huge slices of its French colonial allure. Sightseeing in the morning will include the dazzling white and gold edifice of the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, and witnessing exceptionally beautiful Khmer craft at the National Museum. After lunch, you will visit the Genocide Museum and the Killing Field in town. Return to the ship and take a rest on your cabin balcony or the lounge and get prepared for an exciting event with Apsara dance performance. Overnight on the Jayavarman Cruise
Phnom Penh – Kampong Cham (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
You join a tour to Chong Koh silk weaving village and take a visit around the rural Angkor Ban village. An entirely different experience will be provided with traditional houses which retain truly rustic features, manually made and without any concrete. You can also freshly try daily activities of local people to experience their life before returning back to the ship to cruise towards Kampong Cham. Overnight on the Jayavarman Cruise
Kampong Cham – Wat Hanchey (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
This morning, wake up early to visit Wat Hanchey temple. Then, cruise towards Kampong Cham to visit Wat Nokor which was built within the ruins of an ancient temple. On the way back to the ship, stop by an orphanage and have to maneuver a 2-km rickety bamboo bridge. Balance your body and overnight cruise to Kampong Chhnang
Kampong Cham – Kampong Chhnang – Tonle Sap (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
The cruise sails to Kampong Chhnang which offers you a glance at the Cambodia’s ‘waterworld’. take a motorboat excursion to the landing, followed by a short bus trip to see the Khmer-styled pottery at the Aundaung Russey village. Afterwards, continue to take an adventurous motorboat excursion to the wetlands, floating houses and fish farms in the region. Lunch will be served on boat while cruising the narrow and meandering Tonle River. Join a great dance party in the afternoon. Tonle Sap – Siem Reap (Breakfast)
This morning, on the way to Siemreap, enjoy stunning view of Tonle Sap – the largest freshwater lake in Asia. Enjoy a farewell with our Heritage Line Cruise and disembark at the Siem Reap Port for onward coach transfer to the drop off point in town
